The CW Television Network (The CW) is a television network in the United States launched at the beginning of the 2006–2007 television season. It is a joint venture between CBS Corporation, the former owners of United Paramount Network (UPN), and Time Warner's Warner Bros., former majority owner of The WB Television Network. The "CW" name is derived from the first letter of the names of these corporations (CBS and Warner Bros.). The network features a lineup of shows that, according to its President of Entertainment Dawn Ostroff, "appeal to women 18 to 34-years-old." [1] The network currently airs programming 6 days a week: Monday through Friday afternoons and evenings (in prime time), and Saturday morning children's programming.
The network debuted programming after its two predecessors, UPN and The WB, ceased independent operations on, respectively, September 15 and September 17, 2006. The CW's first two nights of programming—Monday and Tuesday, September 18 and September 19, 2006—consisted of reruns and launch-related specials. The CW marked its formal launch date on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, with a 2-hour season premiere of America's Next Top Model.
The CW lineup has featured on a mixture of programming that originated on both UPN and The WB along with its own original programs.

character's of Gossip Girl
- Blair Waldorf is the series' main character. She is described as being slim, having gourgeous chestnut brown hair and brilliant sea blue eyes, being widely involved in extracurricular activities and having a tenacious attitude towards studies. Blair uses her charm, money and social status to get to where and what she wants. Throughout the series, she has an on-off relationship with Nate Archibald and briefly dating Erik Van Der woodsen Serena's older brother. At the end of the book series, Blair attends Yale University.
- Serena Van Der Woodsen is described as being normal and blonde. Serena has kept a steady string of boyfriends, including Nate Archibald, Dan Humphrey, Aaron Rose. But Serena longs for true romance, and initially seeks this with Nate, despite his relationship with her Best friend Blair. Serena is often criticized by her classmates, who find her an excellent source of gossip. At the end of the book series, Serena decides to stay in New York City, instead of attending a college, so that she can discover her life for herself. After a break from college, she attends Yale University.
- Nate Archibald is a wealthy, good-looking lacrosse player from St. Jude's School for Boys. He has dated a few girls in the series, but his only serious relationship has been with his on-again/off-again girlfriend, Blair Waldorf. After stealing his lacrosse coach's Viagra, he relied on Blair and her alumnus father's connections to get accepted to Yale, although he eventually left to sail around the world with his father's Navy mentor. In the sequel, he attends Deep Springs recommended by Chuck Bass, and then Brown University.
- Dan Humphrey is a thin, sensitive, caffeine-addicted poet who often sees the darker side of things. A romantic whose imagination runs off wildly at the worst times, he is also over-analytical and easily frustrated. He was in love with Serena for years before they met and briefly dated, and experimented with homosexuality, before he began dating Vanessa Abrams. He is a published writer of poetry and songs. At the end of the series, he is attending Evergreen State College in Washington. In the sequel he transfers to Columbia University.
- Jenny Humprhrey is Dan's younger sister and an aspiring artist who wishes to be more like Serena, whom she eventually befriends. She often tries to fit in with the rich girls at her school, even though she does not hold a place in their social sphere. She is eventually kicked out of the Constance Billard School for Girls and sent to a boarding school where she reinvents herself as the "it girl", à la Serena. Her move to the boarding school and her life there became the topic of a spin-off of the series, The It Girl.
- Vanessa Abrams is a budding filmmaker and the total opposite of most of her classmates, sporting a shaved head and always wears black. She has a shaky relationship with Dan Humphrey, particularly after she ends up living with the Humphrey's for a short time. At the end of the series, she is attending New York University.
- Chuck Bass is the series' handsome, lust-driven antagonist who tries to take advantage of several girls, though it is eventually revealed that he is bisexual and he begins dating a male named Greg. He is largely despised by other characters but due to his wealth and power he is tolerated. At the end of the series, he is not accepted into any college that he applied to and claims he is going to military college. However, he never arrives at the school and his whereabouts remain unknown. He later returns to New York as a changed, respectable man. In the books, Chuck is a secondary character. However, he is elevated to a primary role in its television adaptation, in which he holds an intense relationship with Blair.
- Elise Wells is Jenny's best friend and a student at Constance Billard. She discovers homosexual attractions — which prove to be fleeting — and embraces Jenny. She later falls in love with Dan, but he rejects her and after accepting this she encourages him to his relationship with Vanessa.
- Mystery Craze is a poet that Dan has relations with in Because I'm Worth It. As such, Vanessa discovers that Dan is cheating on her while attending a poetry reading where Mystery and Dan are overcome with sexual desires as they do their reading. Their performance thus is overtly sexual.
Glee
Glee is an American Musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox in the United States. It focuses on a high school glee club called "New Directions", at the fictional William McKinley High School in Lime, Ohio. The pilot episode of the show was broadcast after American Idol on May 19, 2009, and the first season began airing on September 9, 2009. On September 21, 2009, Fox officially gave the series a full-season pick-up. Glee aired its mid-season finale on December 9, 2009 and returned from a four-month hiatus on April 13, 2010, picking up the remaining nine episodes of the season.
The show's creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan first conceived Glee as a film. Murphy selects the series' music, maintaining a balance between show tunes and chart hits. Songs covered in the show are released on iTunes during the week of broadcast, and a series of Glee albums will be released through Columbia Records, beginning with Glee: The Music, Volume 1, which was released on November 3, 2009. The music of Glee has been a commercial success, with over two million digital sales.

Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass
Ed Westwick stars as Chuck Bass in The CW's hit drama "Gossip Girl," from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage ("The O.C."), based on the tremendously popular book series about privileged teenagers in New York City.
An emerging British actor trained at The National Youth Theatre in London, Westwick appeared in two high profile features. He played the role of Alex in Alfonso Cuarón's "Children of Men," opposite Clive Owen and Julianne Moore. Westwick was also seen playing the role of Zoran in Anthony Mighella's "Breaking and Entering," opposite Jude Law, Juliette Binoche and Robin Wright Penn. His film credits also include "Son of Rambow."
His additional television credits include guest-starring roles in "Californication," "Afterlife" for ITV1, "Casualty" for the BBC, "Doctors" for the BBC and "Dream Team" for Sky One.
When not filming "Gossip Girl" in New York City, Westwick resides outside London.

Leighton Meester stars as Blair Waldorf in The CW's hit drama "Gossip Girl," from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage ("The O.C."), based on the tremendously popular book series about privileged teenagers in New York City.
During the "Gossip Girl" hiatus, Meester completed production on two films. She will be co-starring alongside Cam Gigandet and Minka Kelly in "The Roommate." In the film, Meester plays Rebecca, a college student who becomes obsessed with her roommate, Sara, played by Kelly. "The Roommate" comes out next year. In "Date Night," Meester will appear alongside Steve Carell and Tina Fey in the film where a regular date night becomes more than one couple expected. "Date Night" will be released April 9, 2010.As if filming the two movies wasn't enough, Meester began recording her new album which will be released on Universal Republic this year.
After making her television debut when she was 13 on "Law & Order," she got her breakout role in 2004 with a recurring role as the Britney Spears-like singer Justine Chapin on the hit series "Entourage," a role she will reprise in September 2008. She continued to work steadily with guest-star roles on series like "8 Simple Rules," "Numbers" and "CSI Miami," and has had recurring roles on popular series such as "24," "Veronica Mars," "Shark" and "House." In addition, she had regular roles on "Tarzan" and "Surface."
Meester made her film debut in the feature "Hangman's Curse," based on the best-selling novel by Frank Peretti. She also recently starred in the independent film "Flourish" with future "House" co-stars Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer, and in the drama "Inside." Meester's additional feaure films roles include the dramedy "The Beautiful Ordinary," the horror/comedy "Drive-Thru" and the thriller "Dead of Night."
Raised in Marco Island, Florida, Meester became interested in acting when she appeared in a local production of "The Wizard of Oz." When she was 11, she moved with her family to New York City and soon after began working as a model with Wilhemina, booking a Ralph Lauren campaign shot by Bruce Webber and working with then photographer Sophia Coppola.
When not on the set, Meester passionately pursues her talent for music and creative writing. She even recorded a song for the soundtrack of her film "Drive-Thru." She currently resides in New York.

Gossip Girl is an American teen drama series based on the book series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The series was created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and premiered on The CW on September 19, 2007. Narrated by the omniscient yet unseen blogger "Gossip Girl", voiced by Kristen Bell, the series revolves around the lives of privileged teenagers attending an elite private school on Manhattan's Upper East Side in New York City.
The series begins with the return of Serena van der Woodsen ( Blake Lively) from a mysterious stay at a boarding school in Connecticut. Blair Waldorf ( Leighton Meester), who creators describe as the queen at the center of their chess game, is a longtime friend and occasional rival of Serena's, and the Queen Bee of Manhattan's social scene. Hachiko a dog's story
In 1924, Hachikō was brought to Tokyo by his owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo. During his owner's life Hachikō saw him out from the front door and greeted him at the end of the day at the nearby Shibuya Station. The pair continued their daily routine until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return on the usual train one evening. The professor had suffered a stroke at the university that day. He died and never returned to the train station where his friend was waiting.
Hachikō was given away after his master's death, but he routinely escaped, showing up again and again at his old home. Eventually, Hachikō apparently realized that Professor Ueno no longer lived at the house. So he went to look for his master at the train station where he had accompanied him so many times before. Each day, Hachikō waited for Professor Ueno to return. And each day he did not see his friend among the commuters at the station.
The permanent fixture at the train station that was Hachikō attracted the attention of other commuters. Many of the people who frequented the Shibuya train station had seen Hachikō and Professor Ueno together each day. They brought Hachikō treats and food to nourish him during his wait.
This continued for nine years, with Hachikō appearing only in the evening time, precisely when the train was due at the station.

What do Christians Celebrate on Ash Wednesday?
In Western Christianity, Ash Wednesday marks the first day, or the start of the season of Lent, which begins 40 days prior to Easter (Sundays are not included in the count).
Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. During some Ash Wednesday services, the minister will lightly rub the sign of the cross with ashes onto the foreheads of worshipers.

Jhelly: what is your purpose in leaving Philippines?
MR. E: well, the first thing i have in my mind is to do something unusual in my boring life, explore and of course to do something that i can benefit in the coming future( education). the second thought i have in me is to fix what is broken and to start a new life in a new environment.
Jhelly: when did you plan in leaving Philippines?
MR. E: i got the final decision to leave when mr. nikko fabian went to our school and introduce the asian tourism international college. that moment i really feel like " this is my call in life, this is what i meant to do" . but before they came into our school im really planning to leav phil.
Jhelly: why didn't you take the open doors in the Philippines?
MR. E: wow! thats a nice shot... ahhhhm. acctually i didnt see any open doors for me. that's why i left. maybe there are but i havent seen it.
Jhelly: what did you feel when the departure time is approaching?
MR. E: that was 22nd of may around 2 pm. i felt like i'm not doing the right thing and its very hard. i feel like " OMG... this is it. when the ferry is 1 metre away from the pier feel like im gonna explode, i want to cry but i resisted it i just miss my family and some of my close friends.
Jhelly: last question, do you feel any regrets in leaving Philippines?
MR. E: sometimes i feel it that way. especially during down moments, just like the 2 week crisis we experience with some of fellow filipino student, but that doesnt stop me from doing things i want and i should do. i'm proud to say that overcome those regrets i felt before..

So what is FishVille? It’s a game where you raise a fish, feed them and help decorate the tank which they live in. It’s similar to many of the other games like Farm Ville, Cafe World, and Roller Coaster Kingdom, however in this one you are simply taking care of a fish tank. As you raise fish you can sell them to earn coins and experience. Honestly, it uses a similar format to all of Zynga’s other games which means the company could reuse a lot of the code from their other games.
Fishville is the latest Facebook game from Zynga! After the smashing success of Farmville, a game where you create and maintain a farm, Zynga has introduced another game which has a lot of potential of being another winner.
Some say that this game is like an underwater Farmville. But in my opinion, this game is more like Tamagochi (remember the small pocket-size gadget kids of the 90s where crazy with??) where you need to make sure you feed your fish every now and then.
In this game you simply grow fish, feed them, and then purchase items for your fish tank. Then come back once in a while to see how your tank is doing. Just like all the other games on Facebook, this one is passive so that you can check in a couple times a day rather than sit and play it non-stop. While I haven’t spent a lot of time playing this game, I’m sure that Zynga is actively tracking user metrics to ensure that this game is just as sticky as their other ones.
